Orientation Workshop & Grant Opening Meeting

May 18-19, 2017 – Programme for Poverty Reduction (PPR) organized an, “Orientation Workshop & Grant Opening Meeting” with ten partner organizations (POs) working in Balochistan, KP and FATA for deepening and extension phase of the programme till June 2018. The programme is funded by Government of Italy. As many as 28 participants (5 women) including CEOs, Programme Coordinators and Finance Managers from selected partner organizations participated in the said event.

The meeting aimed to develop better understanding among POs upon layering up the foundation of investments made in previous two phases of PPR with advanced level integrated programme activities and improved implementation support systems. The event was facilitated by sector specialists of team PPR led by Programme Director. Speaking at the occasion, Ms. Simi Kamal, Sr. Group - Head Grants Operations, emphasized that the primary focus in current phase will be towards active women and youth engagement through holistic community driven development in programme areas.

Quite a lot of strategic discussions and presentations around core thematic areas i.e. social mobilization, livelihood enhancement and protection, education, health and nutrition and community physical infrastructure and implementation support arrangements such as terms and conditions of financing agreement, activity monitoring, corrective actions and disbursements, programme reporting, success stories, management information system, project management system etc were shared with participants. Additionally, best practices, lessons learned and other important matters related to results based PPR implementation were discussed. At the end, it was established that grant opening meeting will be immediately followed by orientation of programme teams of POs working in the field.
